Here’s a short 2 minute video I took last week of Jak walking. It’s pretty funny at the beginning of the video, he keeps blinking/rolling his eyes away. I was using our digital camera and that’s the reaction he gives us anytime he thinks we’re taking a picture… basically prepping for the flash to go off.
Ok, so I’m trying this out in iMovie. I’m exporting it as a Quicktime movie, it’s only a few pics of Elli with some simple transitions. I’m not even 100% sure I can get this to post correctly in the blog
Elli can write her name!! And her drawings are so cute.. every single day she asks for construction paper and crayons! We are SOOO proud of our little firecracker! She has grown so much over the past month! We were beginning to get worried about her speech and learning capabilities and we even had someone come out to our house to evaluate her… the therapist said she did pretty well but did come just at the borderline for needing speech therapy. And as always everything is done in her terms, in her own time!! Her language is growing very quickly and comprehension is coming along very well too! Just a quick post to tell everyone how proud we are of her!
Jakob man is crawling!! He started last week and is getting extremely proficient at it! It is time to baby proof the house… blah!! He is already pulling himself up on furniture too.. he may be walking before his palate repair (march 4th).. Now if we could only get him to sleep through the night!
We had a wonderful Christmas this year! We had Lexi up with us, this was our 1st Christmas having her up with us on Christmas Day. It was so great to have her with us!
The Saturday before Christmas we had our good friends John and Becca come over and Becca helped Lexi, Elli, and I make Christmas cookies! We all had a lot of fun!
I had to share a funny Elli stroy… the only reason this story is funny is because the girl Elli said this to also thought it was funny. 1st I have tell you a little background of Elli, she is THE MOST social kid I have ever met.. she is always willing to talk and share a hug with anyone.
The other day we were at the ped office and Elli saw a girl (about 13) who had her head shaved, I am guessing she is getting chemo. Elli looks at the girl and you can see the little wheels turning in her head.. she smiles her big smile at the girl and asks her if she got a haircut? The girl laughed and said, “yeah and I should go get my money back”. Elli smiled again and then told the girl; “You look like my Daddy!”… the girl and her mom laughed really hard at this… she continued to start asking the girl about what kind of suckers she liked… So sweet! I love kids, they ask what ever is on their little minds and once they get their answers they are 100% ok with it. We have had several kids approach us and ask what is wrong with Jak’s mouth, we explain it and they are ok with it. I wish that honesty and innocence could last a little longer in all of us!
Elli had her Christmas Recital at Day Care last Thursday night. They played Jingle Bells and Little Drummer Boy. They were SOOOO bad is was cute! All the preschoolers were banging their drums and the Wobblers (toddler room) were spent most of the time screaming because they did not want to be there!
I am definately Wicked! Elfie is my new idol! Dave and I saw Wicked this weekend and we LOVED it!!! Miss Saigon has always been my fav. show but I think Wicked is definately right there with it! If you are even thinking about going to Chicago you HAVE to see it!
This time 4 years ago I was in the hospital patiently waiting for Miss Elliana’s arrival. 18 hours later, right before the doctor was ready to take her by c-section, she decided it was time to make her grand entrance! As we have learned with her personality her arrival into the world was in her terms, when she was ready, and no one was going to rush her! 4 exhausting but wonderful years later she is has turned into a little girl!
